SpiegelMom Scraps Sparklers Unite Blog Hop ~ December 2016

Happy December everyone ( I know, hard to believe!!!) and welcome to the December Sparklers Unite Blog hop for SpiegelMom Scraps!!!! I am so excited you have joined us to hop along and see some great projects and maybe get some inspiration for your next project, maybe with some SpiegelMom Scraps Sequins?

You should have arrived from the blog of the amazing and talented Jody! If this is your first stop, you can find the entire lineup for todays hop over on the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog. You will have 5 days to hop along and comment on each of the posts to be in the running for a $10.00 credit to the Shop! Winner will be announced on Dec. 6th

For todays layout, I went a little different (for me) and started with a piece of ice blue cardstock, instead of my usual white. I smudged some white gesso in the center, do add some mixed media without warping my paper. I used the Smooshing technique, aka as the packaging technique, to add some Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz and Cold as Ice Vibez over the gesso. I did let some of the gesso peak out to mimic snow.

I added a paper strip to the lower half of my layout from the new Simple Stories Winter Wonderland collection and added some of the light pink and teal sequins from the all new "Build a Snowman" sequin mix. This is an amazing mix, the colors are SO fun!!!

We have 2 new cut files this month also, and I used the Flakey background to cut some snowflakes,  I added them just above the title strip at the bottom and added some more sequins to the centers and a tiny word sticker from Tim Holtz to the center one.

I used the negative piece of my die cut to back my photo, after mounting the photo on a piece of brown cardstock to help it stand out. I adhered the whole photo cluster over the now dry shimmerz/gesso area. I popped some of the cut sequins up on foam tape and pieced them back into the cut file. I sprinkled some more of the Build a Snowman around, added a doodle boarder and then I inked the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink.

I hope you enjoyed my layout today, and will use LISA15 for 15% off some of the amazing new sequin mixes.

Now, Hop on over to Christy's wonderful blog to see the amazing project she has in store for you!
